From a young age Dave knew he wanted to be involved in Comedy. It started when he found out people couldn't punch as hard while they were laughing. In fourth grade a school project asked what you wanted to be when you grew up. Dave said he wanted to be a comedian. When asked why he responded, "I like to make people happy". All throughout his life he liked to make people laugh, usually at his own expense. After Highschool he got a chance to live his dream and M.C. a local comedy show every other week. After that he dreamed of one day opening a comedy club in the Wausau area to "make people happy".

Kevin Cahak
All of his life Kevin has always tried to make people laugh. When he was 17 he told people he was going to be on SNL someday. He didn't do it. But he is not going to stop trying to make it somewhere. Time passed and he began to give up the dream until the opportunity came up for him to M.C. a local comedy show. He jumped up on the stage and began to learn stand up comedy. He found out the hard way that being a comedian isn't easy. So he held on to his day job. Looking for a way to be surrounded by comedy, his thoughts often drifted into opening his own comedy club. (Enter Dave) Kevin loves performing and making people laugh. He now performs at shows across the Midwest.

David and Kevin met for the first time while working at the same Wausau hotel. David worked at the front desk and Kevin managed the bar. One day during usual chit-chat, they discovered they both were interested in music and after talking about it they decided to start a band. David had a friend he knew that played guitar and the three of them started jamming. The band played at the bar every Thursday night for about a year. The band slowly came to an end when Kevin and David began doing comedy.
The hotel bar put a comedy show on every Friday night with a Karaoke guy introducing the comedians. When the general manager of the hotel decided to stop having Karaoke Kevin asked, "Who is going to open the show?" which the general manager responded, "You can do it. Or just find someone else to." So Kevin asked David to help him open the shows. Neither of them had any jokes or experience on stage but this was something they wanted to try. The next Friday night Kevin opened the comedy show...and bombed miserably. David didn't do much better his first time. But both of them kept trying new jokes with hopes that one would eventually work. That was when David had the idea of opening an actual comedy club. They both had experience running businesses and both loved comedy...it just made sense.
So they began writing a business plan and after several months of research, they finally completed it. They dedicated all of their free time drawing up plans, doing numbers and getting things set up to ask banks for money to open the club. This is when the found out that it's hard to get a business loan. (they should have went to freecreditreport.com) And with no money to put down, bank after bank denied the loans. Morale slowly began to diminish and they started to lose hope. They began to realize that they were not able to start the club at that time and put their dream on hold. David took a different job while Kevin focused on just performing comedy. They still kept in touch frequently.
Finally, after 3 years, the planets aligned and the dream was within reach. The local comedy show decided to stop doing their comedy show and they finally got the opportunity to take over. They both kept all of their papers, ideas and loan denial letters from the previous attempt and have now put them into action.
David and Kevin are dedicated to this comedy club. Both have wrote jokes, performed and have experience in managing bars. With their powers combined, they have become Koo Coo's Nest Comedy Club! Providing people in Central Wisconsin with nationally known comedians that will make you laugh your..."Koo Coo" off.
Kevin has been traveling around the Midwest performing at comedy clubs while running Wausau's local comedy show. With all of the knowledge he has gained from these clubs, he now knows how to put on a great show. His goal is to provide perfect stage lighting, perfect sound and a perfect show every week.
David's goal is to understand the needs of customers and to provide them with an excellent comedy experience as well as just looking sexy.
